Xiaomi launches a series of slim laptops featuring Intel processors, 120Hz refresh rate displays, and 72Wh batteries
Xiaomi just dropped its new Redmi Book 2027 laptop series, and it comes with two models that sort of mostly change on screen size and display stuff, but they still keep the same inner parts, not really a big difference there. In general, there are two sizes, the 14-inch one has a 2.8K resolution panel, plus 500 nits brightness, and the 16-inch version goes with 2.5K resolution and 400 nits brightness. Both of them run at a 120Hz refresh rate, so yeah the motion looks smoother.
Under the hood, you get an Intel Core 5 320 processor (from the Wildcat Lake family), teamed with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. There’s also a dual-fan cooling arrangement, kind of made to stay stable even when things get heavy and busy, like longer workloads and all that.
For the 14-inch model, it’s supposed to be the lighter one at 14.35mm thick, weighing 1.28kg. The 16-inch model stays at the same thickness, but lands around 1.56kg, so a bit more carry.
Ports wise, they include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 port. Battery is 72Wh, and Xiaomi claims up to 20.2 hours of use on the 14-inch model. Charging is 68W fast charging, so it won’t be a forever wait.
In China, the Redmi Book 2027 series is said to show up in four color options. Pricing starts at 6,799 Chinese yuan for the 14-inch model, which is about 1,019 USD. The 16-inch model starts at 6,999 Chinese yuan, roughly 1,049 USD, and that one is the variant with 512GB SSD plus 16GB RAM.
