Xiaomi launches the Redmi K100 smartphone, featuring a 10,000 mAh battery and an AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate

During this pretty big launch moment, in the Chinese market, Xiaomi sort of officially brought out the Redmi K100, well it’s mostly aimed at gamers and folks who want that steady speed without going crazy on the budget. The phone runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and, on top of that, it also features a custom “Redmi D2” chip, kind of built to improve gaming performance in a more efficient way. You can grab it with as much as 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, plus up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage, so honestly there’s plenty of room to breathe.

Up front there’s a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen, resolution 2772 × 1280 pixels, and it refreshes at 165Hz, which sounds smooth for everyday use. The display is rated for around 3500 nits peak brightness, it supports full DC dimming and there’s also an ultra-low brightness mode, it can go as low as 1 nit… which is handy in dim rooms or late at night, when your eyes are already tired.

Inside there’s a large 10,000mAh battery. It supports 100W fast charging, and it even includes 27W reverse charging, so you can power other devices off it. For audio, you get stereo speakers tuned with “Sound by Bose” tech, and around the back there’s a dual-camera setup. The main thing is a 50-megapixel main sensor, and yeah that’s the big headline moment.

For colors, the Redmi K100 comes in three color options. Pricing starts near $450 for the 12GB RAM plus 256GB storage version, and it climbs to about $585 if you pick 16GB RAM with 512GB storage. People are expecting it to show up globally later on, but under the Poco F9 label, since that usually seems to be the path it takes.
