Garmin launches a new app that provides detailed data for training and competitions
HYROX kinda mixes functional strength stuff with endurance racing, but the key is it’s all delivered in a high-intensity way. So, this really asks for prep that’s a bit more than your usual strength and fitness program , it kind of pushes you to keep an eye on performance and how much energy you’re spending, all the way through the event, not just during the hard bits.
Then there’s the “Hybrid Smash” app for Garmin smartwatches . It’s meant to give competitors tools to follow the different parts of the race , like the running sections, the exercise stations, and even those transition zones in between. On top of that, it uses color-coded cues that show the live gap between your target time and what you’re actually doing, and that helps athletes, sort of, dial in their pace and not waste energy for whatever comes next.
And it doesn’t stop on race day either. The app supports training too, with ready-to-use workout plans and also options you can customize yourself, plus simulations made for HYROX specifically, so you can rehearse the rhythm and demands beforehand.
Hybrid Smash is available on the Garmin Connect IQ store for €10. It works with a bunch of Garmin watches , including the Forerunner 265 and older models like the Fenix 6 Pro.
